Questions and Queries
1. Introduction Page 1 |
We don't wish to discourage anyone from contacting Waterford County Museum. We do our best to answer queries as quickly as we can however please bear in mind that we are a voluntary museum with many demands on our time. Some of the queries we regularly encounter can often be best answered elsewhere. Please read the short article below prior to submitting your query.

Questions can be e-mailed to: history@dungarvanmuseum.org

Genealogical Questions
Unfortunately Waterford County Museum cannot undertake general private genealogical research queries. However if we have any information on a particular individual we are happy to share that information free of charge. If you send us a genealogical query please try and provide us with as much information as possible. If you have a general genealogical query it is best to join either (or both) of the Waterford Genealogical Mailing lists.

Both of these lists are excellent free resources. Elsewhere on this site you can find useful contact addresses if you wish to trace your ancestors who originated from County Waterford.

Military Questions
Before you send us a question on your military ancestors please read our article on Tracing Your Irish Military Ancestors. General military questions (non genealogy) should be posted to the Britregiments Mailing List. The people on this list have more expertise on British military history than any of the museum staff.

Valuing Artifacts
We do not possess the expertise in the museum to provide definitive valuations of artifacts. Such work is best done by specialist valuers and dealers.
