Landowner & Politician (1780-1855)
He was the eldest son of Sir John Keane, Bart. of Cappoquin House, Cappoquin, Co. Waterford. He was lieutenant-colonel in the Waterford Militia and was also elected M.P. for Waterford (1832-35). In 1831 he gave 4 lots of his land to the Cistercians and they built Mount Melleray on the site.
