The inscription across the pages of the book reads : IN MESAM DOMINI IERUSALEM DET ARMA ET CORONAS AURH
The book is located in the middle of the stone.
Macalister/1949, 109: `A representation of a seated figure...apparently a corbel from an earlier building. The figure holds an open book, on the pages of which there is an inscription'. 1.
The caryatid depicts (Wth 0.23m; H 0.58m) depicts a robed figure seated with a book resting on his knees holding the pages open with one hand to face outwards. The figure represents represents either St. John or Christ (O'Keefe 1994, 118-27).2
